Infertility Treatment

Infertility Treatment

Infertility treatment is usually required when a couple in their 20's haven't been able to conceive after attempting to do so for 12 months. Happily whether it be medication, ivf or surgery approximately two thirds of those who seek help for infertility go onto produce a baby. Unfortunately it can be so expensive it is sadly out of reach of some couples.

Female infertility treatment can include hormonal therapy to stimulate ovulation, artificial insemination and surgery on the fallopian tubes. But the area where infertility treatment has had immense growth in the last two decades is in the area of assisted reproductive technology, or ART. ART includes all fertility treatments in which both eggs and sperm are handled. In general an ART procedure involves surgically removing eggs from a woman's ovaries, in the laboratory combining them with donor sperm, and returning them to the woman's body or as in some cases donating them to another woman. This means that treatments where only the sperm are handled, as it is during the intrauterin procedure also referred to as artificial insemination, or the patient takes medicine to stimulate egg production without there being any intention of having eggs retrieved are not included.

Infertility medication comes with quite a wide range of side effects from nausea to the possibility of multiple births. Two of the most common are Clomiphene citrate (ClomidŽ) has been used successfully since the 1960's is used to stimulate ovulation. Human Menopausal Gonadotropin (hMG) known as gonadotropin is usually used if clomiphene citrate does not work. Like clomiphene citrate, gonadotropins help control and produce LH and FSH hormones.

Natural infertility treatment comes in many non surgical forms including acupuncture, nutrition, herbs, physical therapy, life coaching, and mind/body programs often you will find that what works for one person will not work for the next.

Acupunture infertility is currently obtaining respectability in the rest of the world, infertility acupuncture is a procedure with roots in the East. You will likely achieve different results from one person to the next, but this is to be expected, after all this is a natural treatment and no two people are the same. While a vast number have seen positive results even when nothing else has worked, there are a few who unfortunately are not successful.

Chinese medicine infertility is traditional Chinese medicine that can be used alone to improve your fertility or it can be used in conjunction with assisted reproduction technologies. Using Chinese medicine infertility treatment consists primarily of acupuncture and herbal medicine and has a very good success rate.
