Female Fertility
Understand female fertility and you will know when you will ovulate and you can use this knowledge to plan or avoid pregnancy.
Unfortunately because female fertility is a neglected area in health education there is a lot of ignorance about fertility signs and female ovulation which we shall try to overcome in the next few paragraphs.
Fertility
Knowing fertility signs and being able to predict when female ovulation occurs is an important skill and one that every woman should have.
Your body will give you clear clues and signals as to when fertility is approaching and occurring. A woman is fertile when she is ovulating and ovulation usually occurs mid female fertility cycle. By finding out a little more about the female fertility cycle by using a female fertility test you will know when you have peak female fertility. Natural female fertility will be experienced before and during ovulation, and then you are infertile for the remainder of your cycle.
There are two fertility signs you can monitor easily.
Basal Body Temperature.
This is your temperature immediately after awakening. Keep a thermometer and a female fertility chart by your bed and chart the results.
Cervical Mucus.
A strong indication you are about to enter your most fertile period is when the mucus becomes abundant and changes in appearance from opaque or white, to clear, sticky and very stretchy. A selection of fertility monitors are available are available from The Fertility Shop.
But knowing when you are fertile is not just about conception, it also gives you the ability to control their choice of contraception. The most fertile days for a woman are the 3-4 days around ovulation and ovulation almost always occurs 14 days before your next period.
Prediction Ovulation
Although it is dismissed by many, a number of women do experience one or more symptoms that indicate female ovulation, from abdominal pain to changes in the feel and look of cervical mucus. The most common female fertility symptom is abdominal cramps. Do it yourself ovulation predictor tests are available in kit form.
Fertile Period
Although most women know that peak female fertility occurs in the middle of the cycle and that this is the time pregnancy is most likely, some of us have grown up with the mistaken belief that you can get pregnant at any time of the month. Be aware that healthy sperm are able to live for a number of days when the conditions are right.
The Biological Clock
A woman's biological clock is constantly ticking during the progression from puberty to menopause, thus placing a woman's ability to bear children into a time frame. Female infertility knowledge becomes a mixture of listening to your body, understanding what it is saying and using that knowledge to try to conceive or avoid becoming pregnant.
