Ovulation Predictor

An ovulation predictor will assist in letting you know when your most fertile days will occur. Timing is everything when it comes to getting pregnant and an ovulation predictor will show you how to calculate ovulation and there will be no guessing as to when does ovulation occur.

There are a number of different ovulation prediction methods you can use your ovulation predictor for and they will all assist your female fertility assessment.

Basal Thermometer.

This is not a quick fix as you will be required to monitor your body temperature with a basal body temperature thermometer for 3 or 4 months to establish your waking temperature. Keep the basal thermometer and a chart by your bed and take and record your temperature upon wakening every day.

Ovulation Predictor Test.

An ovulation predictor test works by detecting the luteinizing hormone (LH) and a positive reading would suggest that you are about to leave your female infertility period and will most likely become fertile over the next three days, reaching your peak fertility in 36 hours. To conduct an ovulation predictor test you will need to purchase an ovulation predictor kit.

Ovulation Predictor Saliva Test.

One way to calculate ovulation is to use an ovulation predictor saliva test. Predicting ovulation does not need to be a guessing game. When you are on the verge of ovulating your levels of estrogen increase and your dried saliva has a "ferning" pattern that looks similar to frost on a window. These fern like patterns are easily observed using an ovulation predictor saliva test.

There are many different techniques besides saliva to determine when you are ovulating. It is very simple and inexpensive to calculate ovulation, which makes it possible to plan when you will get pregnant.

Cervical Mucus During Ovulation.

Try self examination and do this on a daily basis and when the mucus becomes more abundant and changes in appearance from opaque or white, to clear, sticky and very stretchy be aware that this is a strong indication you are about to enter your most fertile period.

Ovulatory Spotting.

Ovulatory spotting or mid cycle staining as it is also known is not uncommon and it may indicate that you have a hormone problem but it also an accurate ovulation predictor. You should let your doctor know about ovulatory spotting, get examined, and then check the next luteal phase. The luteal phase refers to the span of time in the menstrual cycle between ovulation and your next period.
