Female Fertility Test

A female fertility test is advisable if you have been trying to conceive unsuccessfully for 12 months.

Absence of Ovulation

If you are having a problem with ovulation and you think anovulation may be the problem buy yourself a female fertility test kit. If your test confirms there is a problem consult your doctor. There are fertility medications available and he may prescribe clomiphene citrate. You other alternative is to consult a reproductive endocrinologist.

Blocked Fallopian Tube

There are several reasons why your tubes may be blocked thereby preventing the sperm from reaching the egg. Some of the reasons could be pelvic inflammatory disease which can be caused by a previous infection or by abdominal surgery or even be caused by a sexually transmitted disease.

Endometriosos

The presence and growth of endometrial tissue in places other than the uterus. It is known to cause endo pain. Cells that normally line the uterine cavity also implant outside the uterus on the ovaries or other pelvic organs and it can result in infertility. Endometriosis treatment will involve surgery.

Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome

With polycystic ovarian syndrome your body has abnormal hormone levels and you will probably require hormone testing. Women who have polycystic ovarian syndrome often see cysts develop in the ovaries which are inclined to enlarge. Symptoms can be irregular periods or no periods at all, weight problems, high blood pressure, excess hair, acne and elevated insulin levels.

There can be other reasons as well, such as Estrogen deficiency. This is a natural occurring condition and occurs mainly in small and slim women. Estrogen dominance which comes about if your body does not produce enough progesterone or Estrogen excess which is mainly caused by taking prescription drugs that create a hormonal imbalance such as birth control pills. Please note Estrogen is also referred to as Oestrogen.

If you are going to under go a female fertility test it is advisable to comply with whatever applies to you on the following list.

We are what we eat. Start yourself on a well balanced nutritious diet with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, particularly leafy greens, lima beans and peas, try to increase your protein and reduce carbohydrates. A consultation with a dietitian is advisable.

Avoid excessive exercise. If you are a gym junkie and are doing a strenuous program or are involved in endurance type feats try something lighter like a 10-20 minute walk each day or a regular swim.

If you are a smoker quit smoking. If you have diabetes or suffer from hypothyroidism have a chat with your doctor.

Should you be underweight or overweight try to get your weight as close as possible to its optimum.

This is a no brainer but if you are unlucky enough to have a sexually transmitted disease get it treated asap, you may want to have a gonorrhea test.

Keep your alcohol and caffeine consumption as low as possible. If it is possible for you to do so then it is best to abstain.

You will need to exercise patience but when you feel you have done what is necessary to improve you chances of conceiving and you are still not succeeding then it is time for a female infertility test. If the results show the problem is not you then it's time for your partner to have a male fertility test.
